The Montessori method, practiced daily

Every child arrives curious, capable, and ready to explore. Our classrooms are built around that belief — hands-on materials, true multi-age communities, and teachers trained to guide rather than direct.

Independence

Children choose their work, carry it to their mat, and put it back — building real capability, not just compliance.

Self-directed discovery

Lessons are invitations. A child who chooses the work stays with it longer and understands it more deeply.

No child is rushed ahead or held back. Progress is measured against yesterday, not against the class.

Each classroom is a prepared environment — sized, paced, and stocked for exactly where your child is right now.

Our Story

Grown organically, one family at a time

Sunset Montessori Community opened in 2011 as a small alternative to traditional, overpopulated daycare. We've grown the same way we teach — organically, at our own pace — while staying true to what made us different on day one: a real community, not just a classroom.

We employ seven teachers, all with genuine Montessori backgrounds, and we still greet families by name at drop-off.

Our newest team member has four legs — meet Splinty, our classroom pup-in-training, who greets returning families most mornings.
